May 14

The area in front of the bath house has been graded and is being prepped for landscaping. The platform for the deep end slide is set. Gutter grating is being installed. Dark blue lane lines and wall markers have been painted in the deep end. The diving board support has been installed. The new deck chairs have arrived. The platform and the tot slide is being installed. Grading continues around the sides and around the back of the pool.

May 6

The fence surrounding the pool deck has been installed, as well as the shade structure and the shade umbrella on the deck. The pool sides and bottom have been given multiple coats of paint. Concrete framing and pouring continues around the outside of the bath house. The door hardware and signage has been installed. Wood modesty walls have been installed around the exits from the men's and women's locker rooms on the deck. Bath house trim at chair rail level has been installed. The sliding gate at the front of the bath house is being installed today.

April 30

The skim coat is being applied to the pool sides. Concrete framing and pouring continues on the deck and around the buildings. This week, door hardware will be installed. Gutters are being prepped for the grating system. The hardware and mounting systems for the Fumbling Five, Geysers, slides, 20' umbrella, and diving board are set. Drinking fountains, the clock, and the railings have been installed.

April 25

New overhead pool lights have been installed. Fence posts on the south and east side are set. Trench drains are being set. We are sandblasting the pool walls to ready them for finishing. We are framing out and pouring concrete in sections on the desk. In the locker rooms sinks, showers, including shower seats, and toilets have been installed, along with mirrors and lockers. Wood open air slats have been installed in the walk through area. Construction of the shade structure frame continues. Lettering for the address on the building front has been installed.

January 15

Lighting in the Bathhouse is operational. The drop-ceiling of the shelter is being installed. Duct work and copper piping continues in the Mechanical Room.

January 10

Inside corner grouting on the pool, as well as grinding and dressing continues.  80% of the exterior siding work on the Bathhouse is complete. Work on the dormers and gables continues. Aluminum and soffit work will be done this week. 

January 3, 2013

The concrete shell of the pool is complete including the two sets of stairs and the bench. Piping from the pool to the Mechanical Room is complete. Sprinkler system inside is 80% complete. Some of the Mechanical building lights and duct work is complete. 

December 18

Work on the pool piping continues. We are digging the foundation for the two slides. Shallow end concrete form work continues. ComEd has installed a meter and we are waiting for them to turn on the power at the site. Siding work continues on the Bathhouse.

December 11

We are prepping the shallow end walls for a pour this Thursday, weather permitting. The roof of the bath house is complete. Work on the exterior insulation continues, in preparation for siding. We are installing stairs in the Mechanical Room. The electrical piping has been roughed in, as well as the pool piping.

December 4

The shallow end slab has been poured. Work on the shallow end gutters continues. ComEd has set the transformer and is working on bringing power to the site. Site utility work continues including work on a drain storm line. Carpenters are installing insulation board to the roof and the windows are being installed.

November 27

We have prepped the forms for the shallow end and we have begun pouring the 0 depth end of the pool. Bathhouse roof sheeting continues. Trusses for the Mechanical Room are set; sheeting will begin this week. The switch gear and power panel have been roughed in. We are pouring the black dirt for the sidewalk to the detention pond and tennis courts.

November 20

Roofing the Bathhouse, Pavilion and Mechanical Building continues. We are building the gutters in the deep end of the pool. Underground piping work continues.

November 13

We are preparing to roof the bathhouse. Work continues on the Mechanical Room block walls. The steel frame for the pavilion has been set. The wall forms for the deep end pool walls have been stripped away. We are preparing to set the walls for the 3-5' section. 

November 6

We have tapped into the water main to connect the piping for the sprinkler system. The street will be restored by Friday. The pavilion steel work will be set by Wednesday. Work on the deep end walls of the pool continues. The walls will be poured on Friday. In the southwest corner, the storm line is complete.

October 30

The outer walls for the bath house are completed and the doors have been framed. Work on the inner walls continues. The deep end of the pool has been poured and the deep end walls have been formed. The shallow end of the pool will be poured on Thursday. The Mechanical Room slab has been poured and back filled. Work continues on the retention pond.

October 23

The masonry block work continues for the bathhouse. We are gearing up to pour the deep end of the pool, up to the five foot depth. Plumbing work in the mechanical room continues. 

October 16

The south half of the bathhouse slab has been poured. The north half will be poured on Wednesday, October 17. We have framed the balance of the footing of the Mechanical Building. The drains and piping have been set in the deep end of the pool. Utility work in the detention pond continues. 

October 9

The Mechanical Room surge tank and pit walls have been inspected. We can now pour the concrete. Incoming sprinkler, water, gas, and electrical lines have been roughed in underground. Next we will back fill and slab pour. The pool drains are in route to the site.

October 2

We are backfilling the new bathhouse foundation walls with stone. Work on the underground plumbing has begun, and we are bringing in the water lines. The concrete has been poured for the Mechanical Room surge tank and pit floor.

September 18

The framing for the foundation of the new bathhouse continues. The pool is almost completely dug.

September 11
All concrete from the deck has been hauled away. The foundation for the Mechanical Room has been dug. The blue flagged stakes indicate the pool's perimeter.

The deck is being broken up and the concrete is being hauled away.

August 30
The bath house has been completely knocked down. The construction materials are being sorted for recycling and carted away.
August 29
Commonwealth Edison cut the power to the building. The excavator has knocked down half of the bath house.

August 28

The pool fence and the lights have been removed. The excavator has pulled out the aluminum pool and begun to break up and remove the concrete deck.

August 21

The construction fence surrounding the pool and parking lot is up.

August 17

Our Parks Department has removed all of the usable amenities, supplies, and equipment. The gas was turned off on Thursday, August 16.
