Prairie Lakes Fitness Center
One of the most popular features of the Community Center is the Prairie Lakes Fitness Center, a state of the art exercise facility. Year-round, we are open early and late, to fit your workout schedule! The Fitness Center features a wide variety of cardio and strength training equipment, saunas, a whirlpool, locker rooms, and much more. Members and daily users can enjoy a full body workout in a spacious, positive environment, with high vaulted ceilings and mirrored walls. The center has a Cardio Vision System which includes individual receivers on most of the cardio equipment, so you can listen to programs from your choice of six flat panel TV screens. The newly installed Strength Room is designed to help athletes—and all fitness members— reach the next level in their strength training goals.

The indoor walking/jogging track is included in all Fitness Memberships and the daily Fitness Center fee. We also have an annual Track Only Membership, Learn more about the fitness center here.
The outdoor path is available for walking, jogging, rollerblading and bicycle riding.

Both are available to members of participating health plans and employer groups. The SilverSneakers and Prime Fitness programs are a benefit that’s included in more than 65 Medicare health plans, that provides a full membership to the Prairie Lakes Fitness Center. The SilverSneakers and Prime Fitness programs at the park district have an additional benefit: full use of the Fitness Center at Prairie Lakes and the Health Club at the Leisure Center.
